Bukhari in West

I get the impression that to become a good muslim you must always stay stupid or at least - if you do want to read anything, then not the Quran (this one is only for learning by heart, not for use in daily life, thats only for Ulema to do), but some Ahadith, the best of which are Sahih Bukhari.
