Salat prayers
Salam Dr. Mansour,
I was reading some of your articles from the site and also watched some videos from youtube. I believe that Quran is the only book that we have to follow but for me getting the right translation is very difficult. I was reading Dr. Rashad Khalifa's translation but I just read from your article that that one has some major mistakes. Do you have any translation that I can follow? Also I need to know the right way to make prayer. I am sure that you have heard these questions a lot of time but I am new in the site and I do not understand Arabic. I have to rely on English translation. Can you please guide me in this regard?
Thanks,
I think your questions have been answered in my English fatwas and partly in some of my English articles. Briefly, there is a major mistakes in English translations ( of the Holy Quran ) relating to the original mistake in the Arabic (Tafseer ).Quran has its unique Arabic terminology which is different from the classic Arabic terminology. This includes some important terms like ( Islam, Muslim, Shirk , Kufr . Yahood, ..etc..).
We pray the same five daily prayers but reading the verse 18 of Sura 3 instead of Al Taheyyat. We also do not believe in ( Kasr Al Salah ) in travelling because it is only in war.
