Dear Dr subhy, I am a Kurdish teenager from Kurdistan, I wanted to know whether it is permissible to pray salah in my native language ?(from a Quranist perspective) Allah (SWT) says in the Qur\'an 4:43 (O you who have believed, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated until you know what you are saying...) I am sure that the majority of Kurds including me don’t understand the meaning of verses that we recite five times a day, Allah created me as a Kurd why I have to pray to him in Arabic which is not my language.
